OOU Post UTME/DE Admission Screening Form for 2018/2019 Academic Session

Olabisi Onabanjo University, OOU Post UTME/direct entry admission screening application form for 2018/2019 admission exercise is out. OOU cut-off mark is 180. Any body with a score of 180 and above can apply irrespective of their institution of choice.








Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State will conduct a Post-UTME (PUTME) Screening for candidates who wish to be admitted into the University for 2018/2019 Academic year.


OOU Post UTME screening exercise registration will commence on Monday, 16th July and end Friday 3rd August, 2018.


Eligible Candidates 
  1. UTME candidates that picked the University with a minimum score of 180 in the 2018/2019 UTME Results.
  2. Candidates who did not pick the University but with a minimum score of 180 in the 2017/2018 UTME results.
Direct Entry Candidates
  • Candidates with ‘A’ Level/ OND/HND/NCE/A’LEVEL/JUPEB Results/Certificate or First Degree who had applied for Direct Entry Admission through JAMB into the University.
  • Candidates who possess Diploma certificate of the University and who had applied for Direct Entry admission through JAMB into the University.
  • Candidates with Diploma from other approved institutions with minimum of Upper Credit who had applied through JAMB for Direct Entry admission into the University.

  • Each eligible candidate will pay the sum of N2, 000.00 (Two Thousand Naira) only for the Screening Exercise. Each candidate is expected to create a profile through the school Portal http://putme.oouagoiwoye.edu.ng/apply.php and thereafter generate a payment invoice. Payment can be made through any of the following:

The Rhodes Scholarships For Postgraduate Study At The University Of Oxford

SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Eligibility
  1. The Global Scholarships will be available to candidates from any country that is not an existing Rhodes jurisdiction.
  2. If you are a young person of outstanding intellect, character, leadership, and commitment to service, you could be a candidate for the Rhodes Scholarship
  3. You must have reached your 18th birthday and not have passed your 24th birthday on 1 October in the year of application.
  4. Rhodes Scholars must have completed a Bachelor’s degree before coming up to Oxford, to a sufficiently high standard to meet both the Rhodes and the Oxford criteria.

Selection Criteria


  • Though expressed in the old-fashioned language of the founding documents, the selection criteria governing selection across all Rhodes constituencies remain as relevant today as they were over 100 years ago:
  • literary and scholastic attainments (academic excellence)energy to use one’s talents to the full (as demonstrated by mastery in areas such as sports, music, debate, dance,theatre, and artistic pursuits, particularly where teamwork is involved) truth, courage, devotion to duty, sympathy for and protection of the weak, kindliness, unselfishness and fellowship moral force of character and instincts to lead, and to take an interest in one’s fellow beings.
These are the essential qualities which Selection Committees are looking for, though their embodiment will be diverse and unique to each individual.

2018 Killam Scholarships At University Of British Columbia, Canada (Over $30,000 per annum)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the Killam Scholarships at the University Of British Columbia (UBC). The deadline for submission of application for Killam Doctoral Scholarship is September 17, 2018.








The Killam Scholarship and Prize Programmes were established in memory of Izaak Walton Killam through the Will of his wife, Dorothy Johnston Killam, and through gifts made during her lifetime. Their primary purpose is to support advanced education and research at five Canadian universities and the Canada Council for the Arts. The UBC Killam Doctoral Scholarships are provided annually from the Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Fund for Advanced Studies. It was Mrs. Killam’s desire that those selected to receive scholarships: “Be likely to contribute to the advancement of learning or to win distinction in a profession. A Killam scholar should not be a one-sided person…Special distinction of intellect should be founded upon sound character.”

Killam Doctoral Scholarships are the most prestigious awards available to graduate students at UBC. Approximately 15-20 awards are made each year to the top doctoral candidates in the Affiliated Fellowships competition. The stipend for the 2018-2019 awards is $30,000 per annum for two years and a $2,000 allowance for research-related travel during the 24 months of the scholarship.

The Killam Doctoral Scholarship is the only Affiliated Fellowship competition for which Okanagan students are eligible. Any Canadian or Permanent Resident who applies to a Tri-Council competition (NSERC or SSHRC) and is successfully forwarded to UBC Vancouver will be automatically considered for Killam Doctoral Scholarship funding. In the case of international students and any Canadian or permanent resident that is ineligible for Tri-council funding but would like to apply for Killam Doctoral Scholarship funding, an Affiliated Fellowship application can be submitted to the College of Graduate Studies.

Annual Value: $30,000 per annum for two years and a $2,000 allowance for research-related travel during the 24 months of the scholarship.

These students do not need to submit a separate Affiliated Fellowship application.

2019 RTNC Scholarships for Media and Communications Professionals, Netherlands

The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides OKP (formerly known as NFP) scholarship for the RNTC courses for media and communications professionals from a variety of partner countries. The scholarships include a contribution towards the cost of living, the course fees, visa, travel and insurance. If applicable, the scholarship holder is expected to cover the difference between actual costs and the OKP scholarship amount.
The scholarships are administered by Nuffic, the Netherlands Organisation for International Cooperation in Higher Education. OKP stands for ‘Orange Knowledge Programme’ and these scholarships are available for 52 countries. Please check below whether you meet the criteria to apply for a OKP scholarship.

How to Apply for RTNC Scholarship.

PLEASE NOTE: THE APPLICATION WINDOW OF 8 JUNE – 13 JULY 2018 IS ONLY OPEN TO OKP CANDIDATES.

  •   First apply to RNTC to check that you are eligible for the course you would like to do. You can apply for a course by selecting a course. Make clear in your application to RNTC that you are intending to apply for an OKP or MSP fellowship. The option is included in the RNTC application form (only available for ‘OKP’ and ‘MSP’ courses before the OKP/MSP deadline).
  • Once you have submitted your application, RNTC will inform you by email whether you are eligible or not (usually within 10 working days).
  •  If you are eligible for the course, RNTC will send you a link by email to apply for a OKP or MSP fellowship in ATLAS; the online system for your OKP or MSP scholarship application.
Then apply for an OKP or MSP fellowship.
  • Please note that your OKP or MSP application has to be completed and submitted in one go! Once you have submitted your application, you will not be able to make changes or additions.
  • If you are eligible according to RNTC and you meet the OKP or MSP criteria, you can apply for a scholarship in the Nuffic system which is called ATLAS, using the link mentioned in step 3.
  •  Note that you can only apply for a scholarship for your chosen course during the application window for that course. There are two of these windows every year.
  •  Before applying for a OKP or MSP scholarship, make sure you have all the documents mentioned below ready. This is because your application has to be completed and submitted in one go. Please use the formats provided by Nuffic and submit all the required documents EXACTLY as specified. Otherwise, your application will be rejected by Nuffic! The file format should be PDF and your document must not exceed 2 MB.
  • Copy of a valid passport. The passport needs to be still valid at least three months after the submission date of the registration form.
  • A Letter of motivation. Have this prepared so you can copy/paste it into the online application form. This can be more or less the same motivation as you prepared for your RNTC application. This motivation will weigh heavily in the selection procedure. Make sure you address the following questions:
  • ​What is the issue or problem you want to address in your country?
  • How will this course enable you to address this issue?
  • How will you address this issue considering your position within your organisation?
  • An Employer’s Statement. This is a very important document, please fill it out EXACTLY as specified by Nuffic and use this format provided by Nuffic. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS DOCUMENT CONSISTS OF TWO PAGES, BOTH HAVE TO BE FILLED IN, SIGNED & STAMPED.
  • A Government Statement (if applicable for your country). A number of governments of KOP and MSP countries require a government statement before candidates can apply for a scholarship. In this statement, the government expresses its support for the scholarship application. Please check this overview to see if this applies for your country. Also, it’s always good to check this with your government and/or the Netherlands embassy. If a government statement is required for your country, please use this format provided by Nuffic for OKP countries and this format, if you are from a MSP country.
  •  If you are certain that you are eligible for an OKP or MSP scholarship and you have collected all the necessary information and documentation, you can start with your application in Nuffic’s ATLAS online application system using the online application form link that was sent to you

2019 Mexican Government Scholarship for International Students



Mexican Government is now accepting applications for its 2019 Scholarship program for international students. The deadline for submission of application for Mexican Government Scholarship is 28th September, 2018.

On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) invites foreign citizens who are interested in studying for a specialization, master’s degree or doctorate, conducting graduate or postdoctoral research, or taking part in an undergraduate or graduate -level academic mobility program, to participate in the 2018 Mexican Government Scholarship Program for International Students.

The scholarships are offered to more than 180 countries through a series of bilateral conventions, multilateral programs and special agreements. More than 70 Mexican institutions participate and all offer academic programs registered with the National Council for Science and Technology (CONACYT) as National Quality Graduate Programs. These programs demonstrate the progress made by Mexico in the sciences and humanities.

By offering Mexican government scholarships for international students, Mexico strengthens its role as an actor with global responsibility and renews its commitment to cooperation programs that help create highly-skilled human capital. The presence in Mexico of international students, academics and scientists helps build permanent bridges of dialogue that enrich the long-term foreign policy agenda through contributions of exceptional value for the country and its partners abroad. In addition, the Mexican institutions and academic community benefit from the increased internationalization.


Mexican Government Scholarship Duration.
  • Undergraduate and graduate academic mobility programs- one academic term (quarter, trimester or semester)
  • Graduate research and postdoctoral fellowships-12 months (1 month minimum)
  • Specialization-1 year
  • Master’s degree- 2 Years
  • Doctorate- 3 years
  • Medical specialties and sub specialties- 3 Years
Mexican Government Scholarship Requirements.
  1. The scholarships for academic studies are offered to take complete programs for Specialization, Master’s or PhD Degrees, and Postgraduate Researches. Likewise, the offer includes academic mobility for Bachelor’s and Postgraduate Degree. On the other hand, the scholarships for special programs are offered Preferred to take short-term fellowships addressed to Visiting Professors, Researchers in Mexico’s issues, Media Contributors, Art Production Fellowships, etc.
  2. Candidates cannot be living in Mexico at the time of application.
  3. Except in special cases, scholarships cannot begin in November or December.
  4. Requests for information and all scholarship applications must be submitted to the Mexican embassy or concurrent embassy of the applicant’s country or to the designated Mexican institution. Only applications that fulfill all of the requirements will be considered.
  5. All documents and forms must be in Spanish or submitted with translations into Spanish.
  6. Candidates will be informed of the results by the corresponding Mexican embassy or designated Mexican institution.
  7. The scholarships are not transferable and cannot be deferred to future years.
Mexican Government Scholarship Benefits.
  1. Monthly stipend of 4 (four) times the value of the unit of Measure and Actualization (UMA) for Undergraduate mobility scholarships, Specializations, Master’s degrees or Master’s-level research, Spanish language or Mexican culture courses. During 2018, the stipend was calculated with the minimum salary in Mexico City and was equivalent of $9,604.80 pesos (approximately USD 529.77)
  2. Monthly stipend of 5 (five) times the value of The Unit of Measure and Actualization (UMA) for Doctoral programs and Research periods, Postdoctoral fellowships and Medical specialities and subspecialties. During 2018, the stipend was calculated with the minimum salary in Mexico City and was equivalent of $12,066.00 Mexican pesos (approximately USD $665.52).
  3. Monthly stipends are not divisible or partial. The Scholarships will be paid at the end of each month.
  4. Registration fees and tuition, as established by the program at each institution ,subject to the final decision of the participating HEI, established in the letter of acceptance.
  5. Health insurance from the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), starting the third month of the scholarship. The Scholarship recipient must have health insurance that covers both major and minor medical expenses and provides international coverage for the first three months in mexico.
  6. The cost of the temporary resident/student visa issuance, for stays longer than 180 days.
  7. Depending on the reciprocity with the partner country, it will be included a round-trip international airfare at the beginning and/or satisfactory term of the scholarship. The air ticket will be purchased in economy class and will be considered the most convenient flight route for the Academic Exchange Office.
  8. Should the recipient of the scholarship is pursuing studies outside Mexico City, transportation from Mexico City to the host institution and back will be provided, at the start and end of his/her academic activities.

2018 WASSCE for School Candidates results statistics have been released by the Head of National Office, WAEC. Only 50 per cent of the participants had credits in 5 subjects and above, including English and Maths.





From the latest report reaching us, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the 2018/2019 WAEC May/June results.


Announcing the results today at the WAEC headquarters in Lagos, the Head of National Office (HNO), Mr Olu Adenipekun, said the performance of candidates for its examinations in the last three years has been fluctuating in view of the outcome of the just released 2018 examination.

In the analysis of the results, he said: “1,578,846 candidates registered for the examination, out of which 1,572,396 candidates sat the examination.

In the breakdown of the results, the HNO said: “1,213,244 candidates representing 76.84% obtained credits and above in a minimum of any five subjects (I. e with or without English Language and/or Mathematics.

“858,424 candidates representing 54.59% obtained credits and above in a minimum of five subjects including English Language but without Mathematics.

“786,016 candidates representing 49.98% obtained credits and above in minimum of five subjects including English Language and Mathematics.

“In this category were 389,655 male and 396,361 female, representing 47.32% and 52.92% respectively. ”

The HNO said that the candidates, who have fulfilled their financial obligations to the council were free to check the details if their performance on the council’s result website.

According to the statistics released by WAEC, 50%, obtained minimum of credits in five (5) subjects and above, including English Language and Mathematics

You don’t need to buy any scratch card to check your 2018 WAEC result. The result checker pin and serial number needed by candidates to check results online are contained on candidate’s smart identity card used during the conduct of the examination.

Go to WAEC 2018 result checking portal at https://www.waecdirect.org.
Enter your WAEC Examination Number in the required column.
Select your Examination Year i.e. 2018.
Select your Examination Type i.e. SCHOOL CANDIDATE RESULT.
Enter the Card Serial Number.
Enter the Card PIN.
Finally, click “Submit” button to get your 2018 WAEC Result.
