The case isn't continually with passing jamb; it's far in passing the submit UME examination designed by means of the University of your Choice. Now, that is a manual on a way to bypass Post UTME examination/Screening take a look at in any college of your preference trouble loose.

1. GO THROUGH THE EXAM SYLLABLES: Most students don't read till the exam is rapid coming near earlier than they begin cracking the difficult kernel, you are not supporting yourself. Waiting until months to the exam is an announced failure, no offense although. There are folks that will begin analyzing weeks to checks and make it but please don't try it; you'll be surprised it doesn't workout for you that way.

Do that once you continue to have time. Waiting until checks date is speedy approaching places you in a rush, you won't be capable of dealing with a particular topic and you'll want to jump to the next because there may be no time.

2. GET PAST QUESTIONS: It is necessary of a visionary scholar that you dig in and get a compiled reproduction of the university's past query and solutions. This could be very critical as it helps to widen your wondering faculty, exposing the scope and procedure via which examinations are set and a way to answer the questions without getting confused through the technicality of the query and the manner they are being set.
This is likewise critical as beyond questions is normally like an expo assisting you to recognize the perspective from which questions would possibly come from, although a few questions are commonly repeated, it's far important to read during noting vital points. You can get the beyond questions downloaded into your telephones as these days, paper copies are speedy diminishing but you may nevertheless go for it if you want to.

3. KNOW THE SCHOOLS CUT OFF MARK: Before you even observe for post UME, you need to make certain your rating marches or is above the universities reduce off mark earlier than you follow. Some universities reduce off mark is normally 2 hundred like UNN, UI and other establishments at the same time as others are from a hundred and eighty. You need to make certain with your score; you may practice for publish UME and stand a risk of gaining admission.

If you are not sure, you're advised to get an alternate of route/organization from earlier than the cut-off date. Have handful knowledge about the faculty so that you understand what you'll count on to see and won't be worried when you do.

4. APPLY FOR POST UME/PRE-ADMISSION SCREENING: When making use of, hold your options clear and focused on what you want and opt for it. Jamb Delists Management Courses In Seven Universities..

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has delisted management guides of some universities in its present day admission brochure.
They are Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Modibbo Adamawa Federal University of Technology, Yola (MAUTY), Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA), Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU) and University of Agriculture, Makurdi (UAW).

This is a sequel to an order by the federal government that the colleges of Agriculture and Technology have to forestall jogging control publications and cognizance on their middle mandates.

The directive became issued via the Ministry of Education after it changed into authorized recently by the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

JAMBs spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, defined that the choice to delist the programs changed into now not taken by the Board as being suggested by using a few personnel and students of the colleges affected.

It becomes a ministerial selection based totally on FEC meeting and as an enterprise of the presidency, we are to enforce government choices., he advised Sun.

So, in the concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), the involved institutions did not subject applicants.

Meanwhile, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the House Committee on Tertiary Education have queried the directive.

Reacting, ASUU FUNAAB chairman, Dr. Adebayo Oni, said the national body of the union became aware of the authorities choice but stated that it becomes completed without proper consultation with affected universities and stakeholders.

He stated: FUNAAB department took the problem to our zonal branch meeting which reported identical on the national level. The delisting of the program became carried out in haste and it is illegal by JAMB.
The courses have been authorized by way of the National Universities Commission (NUC) and relevant bodies. University vice-chancellors had been no longer carried alongside.

How Universities We Conduct Admission For 2017/2018

How Universities will Conduct Admission this year. After the current scrapping of submitting UTME exam by the federal authorities, you might be thinking how the universities will conduct admission this year.
Going by way of the reactions of candidates over the withdrawal of the listing of applicants despatched to tertiary institutions for admission consideration by way of JAMB, it's miles critical we make clear a few matters to keep away from confusion and make certain applicants are well guided.
So right here are crucial things you need to recognize and hold in thoughts concerning this new development;

1. The University Senate now has autonomy to pick candidates for admission. However, the listing of selected applicants has to bypass thru JAMB for approval and issuance of admission letters.

2. Whether or now not you were posted to a college or not for admission consideration in advance no longer matters. As the posting is not valid. All you want to do now's watch for your school of desire to announce its screening exercising and make sure you participate thus.

3. For Tertiary establishments which have already carried out their admission screening exercising in step with JAMB stipulations, such screening still stays valid. Candidates that participated in such screening ought to await the release of the admission list(s) by means of their respective establishments.

4. The withdrawal of the JAMB Consideration List does now not imply that publish-UTME is now legitimate. The ban on Post-UTME stays valid. Tertiary institutions ought to abide by the screening modalities as earlier introduced via JAMB.

5. Candidates must word that the provision of provisional admission by their schools of preference is a challenge to validation by way of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

The Joint Admission And Matriculation Board held a meeting on the B.O Ukeje Auditorium, Nation Commission for faculties of Education, Central Business District Abuja on Tuesday 28th, 29th and thirtieth to map out admission screening modalities for Colleges of schooling, Polytechnics, and Universities.
The meeting turned into chaired by way of the permanent secretary ministry of education, Dr. Shade Yemi-Esan.

After evaluating the screening models of some schools in previous years and different factors surrounding the admission methods in the tertiary group within the country, JAMB released a proposed version for the screening of recommended candidates.

PROPOSED JAMB MODEL FOR SCREENING OF RECOMMENDED CANDIDATES
1. Screening of candidates will be for ONLY applicants encouraged for admissions.
2. No written exam to be performed.
3. Verification of Course Requirements (O stages or A levels).
Four. Verification of valid JAMB outcomes with the aid of checking:
i. Online Result Slip
ii. Printout
iii. Photo Album
v. Checklist
vi. Biometrics
5. Institutions are free to supply from different Course(s) to
atone for SHORTFALL in any of the standards.

If the proposed version for admission as proposed via JAMB is to be followed for 2016/2017 admission technique, underneath is how the admission manner will run and all you must realize approximately it
.
1. JAMB must offer a candidate an admission before such applicants qualify for screening within the institution he or she has been provisionally admitted. This way that institutions can handiest screening candidates sent to them via JAMB as having been provisionally admitted in such group.

2. Institutions admission screening tactics will now be primarily based on factor gadget. The first on the point gadget is the Olevel grading. Candidates who have handiest one O-stage end result will stand a higher chance of gaining admission than candidates with 2 outcomes. One 0level end result = 10marks/factors at the same time as two Olevel results = 3 marks/factors.

Similarly, every grade will now have its equal factors/marks in this way; A=6 marks, B=4 marks, C=three marks this means that the having better grades in your O level result gives you a better risk of securing admission.
The next to be considered on the factor machine is your UTME Score. Candidates could be offered marks/points based totally on their a hundred and eighty-two hundred=20-23 marks, 200-250=24-33 factors, 251-three hundred=34-forty-three, three hundred-four hundred=forty four-60 factors. The better your rating, the higher your probabilities of securing admission.
This method that what we formerly realize as establishments cut-off-marks will now be called institutions cut-off points so that you can be arrived at after putting all the aforementioned into consideration.

3. JAMB provisional admission is now a way to a stop and now not a case itself. This way that JAMB might also offer a candidate provisional admissions and such candidate will still be denied admission with the aid of his/her institution due to the fact he or she comes beneath the cut-off point for his/her course in that unique institution.

For example, you may be given provisional admission to having a look at MBBS in UNIBEN by means of JAMB having received a UTME rating of 260. If your establishment's cut-off factor for the medicinal drug is ninety-five factors and you come under that wide variety of factors after the screening, you'll possibly be denied admission.

4. Admission process will still be positioned into concerns elements like catchment vicinity and ELDS (Educationally Less Developed States) in determining the number of applicants admitted. Admission with the aid of advantage is forty-five%, catchment area 35% and ELDS 20%.

The difficulty of Science to art ratio will nonetheless be in place. For universities, Science to art ratio can be 60:forty, Polytechnics 70:30. However, for specialized institutions (Technology, Science Agriculture etc) it will likely be 100% related to their specialty. Also, 90% of admission will visit UTME applicants whilst 10% will visit Direct Entry applicants.

5. Schools are still at liberty to fee a sure rate for the screening of candidates. However, the Board did not stipulate how plenty establishments are to price for this.

A Former Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, NUC, Professor Peter Okebukola, has disclosed that the scrapping of the Post-UTME method that tertiary institutions will now cross back to the agreement NUC had with Vice-Chancellors in 2004 while it introduced Post-UTME which is to display screen candidates on an oral interview and written essay.

He pointed out that tertiary institutions had been not assumed to conduct screening for applicants just like that of JAMB as that turned into the part of the settlement guiding the advent of Post-UTME. He lamented that tertiary establishments have for the reason that deviated from that agreement.

According to him, admission seekers are speculated to attain minimal cognitive competence in the relevant subjects within the area they wished to observe; that's the factor JAMB examination covers and also reap competence in written and oral English, essential wondering and potential to offer thoughts in logical collection that is what Post-UTME should be all approximately.

Because of this face, there's each purpose to believe that some colleges may additionally nonetheless conduct submit UTME examination. However, it's miles important to recognize if you faculty will write put up UTME examination this year.
Students who applied for the faculty in JAMB and feature met requirements (minimum of 180 in JAMB and a Credit in Maths and English inclusive of topics relevant for your path choice) will come for the screening with their credentials. At the screening, they present their consequences and solution a couple of questions (orally) based totally on your carried out course (normally primary information questions) after which they wait for the end result of this examination.

This usually means getting admission from JAMB immediately (first listing)and then 2 subsequent lists from the college.

Now, here's the trap. Getting the admission doesn't suggest you're domestic free. Thousands are commonly given this admission into one hundred level, however, they don't get an Admission letter from the college of their one hundred level, due to the fact a 2d screening occurs in 200 degree.

If a pupil is unable to complete one hundred stage with a CGPA of 2.5 (3.5 in Medicine), he or she might be screened out of the faculty. Only those who acquire this mark continue to be in two hundred degrees and are subsequently given the schools Admission letter.

Before the gathering of this letter, its safe to assume that you're no longer completely a University student till the stop of this period of probation.
This screening typically leaves the college with at the least 1/2 of the to start with admitted college students that are the needed populace.

How will universities determine cutoff marks to confess college students?
Before post UTME was introduced in 2005, universities had been admitting human beings and bringing out cutoff marks though the gadget varies in unique schools.

Some universities used each Jamb results and O'levels points, a few used simplest Jamb results. We are worried approximately UNN and how they used to run admission while there has been no post UTME.
Like I said before post UTME became brought UNN nevertheless used to run her admission same way she does now; the most effective distinction is that there was nothing like a mean score. As all of us understand, since the introduction of post UTME UNN uses an average score of post UTME and UTME rankings to decide your score for admission. The cut-off marks are decided by means of preferred performance in post UTME.

After the discharge of primary list, there can be an commercial for supplementary shape in which those so that it will score one hundred eighty/200 and above in PUTME may be eligible to buy, fill a lower direction that has a decrease cutoff mark than your average rating and compete with others a good way to purchase and fill equal direction with you.

If you do now not buy this supplementary form, you will in all likelihood now not get admission in next lists known as supplementary lists. There is nothing like enrolling your name in a lower route if you do now not buy the supplementary shape as a repayment for no longer being admitted in your original direction.

You have to buy the supplementary shape which will be enrolled in a decrease route and no longer absolutely everyone who purchases the supplementary shape should be admitted in a decrease route you fill even when your average rating is above the cutoff mark of that route you will fill, it's by and large by merit for people with high scores, sorting with cash for folks that can have enough money it and additionally luck.
Now you have understood how UNN runs admission with post UTME, shall we discuss how UNN used to run admission without post UTME.
Like I said, there's no an awful lot distinction. After UTME (Jamb) is written, UNN maps out cutoff marks for special guides which they don't make public.

The cutoff marks are determined based totally on the overall performance in UTME. The higher human beings carry out in UTME, the better the cutoff marks and vice versa.

After the release of primary listing, there will be a commercial for supplementary form in which folks who rating 180/200 in UTME (Jamb) and select UNN in UTME will be eligible to buy.
During my personal time when there was no post UTME, I entered UNN through supplementary by means of buying supplementary shape then due to the fact I became cut off from my unique course due to the fact that I didn't score up to the cutoff mark.

There become not anything like enrolling you into every other path irrespective of what your rating might be, you need to purchase a supplementary shape. Sorting of admission with money changed into very common then.
